Most
of the fawns that we admit have become orphaned when their parents are hit
by cars. They are initially bottle fed every four hours, but are quickly introduced
to solid food such as browse. Once they are completely weaned we keep them
for an additional month or so until they have reached a size where they can
be self sufficient. They are then released at safe places far from busy roads.
