Call this number if you want to help an injured or orphaned wild animal, or if you have a question or problem about interacting with wildlife. If your car hits a deer, and you are inside the city limits, call the city police; if you are outside the city limits, call the state patrol or the sheriff. For more information about cars hitting deer, see Wildlife and Roads.

We can put you in touch with wildlife rehabilitation centers in other parts of the state or country. Often your local veterinarians, local animal control officials, or department of fish and wildlife will know of rehabbers in your area.

There are other rules governing domestic animals. For dogs and cats, contact your local police or humane society.
