4th Annual Squirrel Appreciation Day
January 21, 2012
Squirrels Tavern, Corvallis
Written by Lianne Dyche
Chintimini's 4th Annual National Squirrel Appreciation Day raised nearly $3,000 through sponsorship, donations and the generous support of our community members. Hundreds of patrons turned out for an entertaining evening of music, squirrel trivia, raffle prizes and libations. Each year, proceeds from Squirrel Appreciation Day provide food and medical treatments for Oregon's sick, orphaned and injured wildlife cared for by Chintimini volunteers.

The event featured 3 rounds of fun-filled squirrel trivia and over 30 squirrel-related raffle prizes donated by community businesses and individuals. Unique to this year was the donation of liquor from local businesses, 4 Spirits Distillery and Veracity Spirits, which enabled patrons to purchase innovative signature drinks called "The Squirreldriver" and "The Salty Squirrel." Additional beverages included kegs of ale donated by Calapooia Brewing Company and Oregon Trail Brewery.
