How long have you been @ CWC?
I have been volunteering at Chintimini almost 3 years and between the clinic and Raptor Education Program I have logged over 1000 hours.
What shift(s) are you on?
I work as a shift leader on Tuesday mornings in the clinic and as a bird handler several days a week for the REP. I frequently take home care patients as well. I also do many presentations for the REP to the public.
Are you employed outside of your CWC volunteer position?
I am a retired RN and in volunteering at Chintimini I am fulfilling a childhood dream to work with animals.
What is your favorite part about volunteering at CWC?
I love the variety of patients I get to work with.
Do you have a favorite or most memorable patient (past or present)?
One of my favorite moments at Chintimini, among many, is when I was holding a trumpeter swan and she draped her long neck over my shoulder. Truly special.
What is something that your shift may not know about you?
Oil painting wildlife is a hobby I've recently been exploring.
What book is currently on your nightstand?
In my spare time I love to read and I'm currently rereading Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice
What music is in your car right now?
Credence Clearwater is one of my most frequent music choices.
Where are you from?
I am originally from Canada, but have lived in Oregon over 30 years.
